Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 (Section 18B)
Employer’s Responsibility:
Every employer, self-employed person, or principal must conduct a risk assessment on safety and health risks affecting anyone at the workplace.
If the assessment identifies risks, appropriate control measures must be implemented to eliminate or reduce those risks.
“Risk assessment” refers to the process of identifying workplace hazards, evaluating the associated safety and health risks, and determining suitable risk control measures.
Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 (Section 19)
Penalty for Non-Compliance:
Fine up to RM 500k , imprisonment for up to two years, or both.
